Thermal Modelling

Thermal modelling is now an integral part of the design process which assesses the building’s thermal performance and energy usage. This allows us to advise clients and architects on how design decisions influence the energy consumption and carbon emissions of the building and also assess sustainability options, overheating and natural ventilation.

Our modelling team can also use dynamic modelling to investigate and provide advice on the following:-

  • Planning.
  • Overheating and passive ventilation strategies for compliance with TM 52 and BB101.
  • Building Regulations and SBEMS compliance.
  • Natural daylight calculation.
  • Solar shading and optimise its use.
  • BREEAM, EPC’s.
  • Building orientation, construction types and elements.
  • Future proofing buildings against overheating using predicted weather data.
